Alice's Lofi Camera

Something to be said for a having a single chance to get it right! Nice Job Alice.

360 Picks

Winter in 360

For best experience, use google cardboard, or other Virtual Reality viewing headset. But first put in highest resolution and wait for it to download. If you don't have a headset, still get high res, and you can click and drag to see around. This was taken using the camera I got for my 40th bday. Thanks!

Test 2

Christmas Lead-up

The girls are enjoying playing outside, a little poke to get out, then it is hard to get them back in! Dad put together a pretty crazy decoration in the front, to make make sure the neighbours knew who the most eccentric person on the street is!

2016 Halloween Projection Mapping

Fall 2016

The headless daughters was completely from their imagination. Very clever, and great execution! One of the Halloween projects: http://www.instructables.com/id/Projection-Mapping-Hell-Hound/ Hmm, we knew they were a close match when we bought Estelle's coat, but this is a little eerie!

Random Catch-Up

Alice picked up some fake glasses that she wears out sometimes. They suit her fine! What's up! Birthday tradition. We all get the king's treatment on that special day! I am not sure who is more excited...

Nearly Halloween...

Birthday Sleepover

We played games orchestrated by Alice, had a personalized pasta bar managed by Guy, and an organic lipbalm and body lotion creation session guided by Lucy. Oh, and there was some sleeping too. (Editor's Note: I just looked this post over and noticed a beer can on the table... that was Guy's...)

Pick a school, any school

Last Saturday open houses were held at all the high schools in Laval. Apparently, a large proportion of the Laval population switches from public to private school for high school, but with it come the obvious fees and option selections. So we visited two private and one public school to get a feel for it. Standouts for the day: Robotics club at College Laval (mostly exciting for Guy though) Secondary 1 and 2 only at L'Odyssée (comforting for Lucy) "A building you don't get lost in" - Estelle "A school where my friends are going" - Alice

Double Digits Yo.

Alice has hit the ten year milestone!!! What an incredible bright and generous being she has become in such a short time. Her maturity level often surpasses that of many adults (my own included). And yet, that childlike magic remains. Only yesterday she proudly brought us outside to inspect the leaf and ash burritos she made in the back yard. While earlier in the day she was primping in front of the mirror with lipgloss and hair trinkets. The big birthday news however, was that 10 was the somewhat arbitrary threshold we had established for the girls to be allowed to get their ears pierced. So, accompanied by Aunty Katherine and the cousins, we excitedly skipped over to Claire's (popular girly store) for the procedure. Of course Alice was a change and barely winced during the process. And now she is adorned with the prettiest little "diamond" studs.

Manitoba Visit

We were well overdue for a visit in Manitoba with the girls, and we had  great long weekend with the family. Sorry for the lack of photos of Mom, there weren't any good ones. The Joubert Creek was unusually high and warm so we went tubing behind the canoe. St Malo Beach
