One Foot In...

While we're technically not moving in until June 2nd, the house is nearly empty already (one lone adult son living in the basement), and we've been given permission to go in to begin cleaning, painting and also cleaning. Lots to be done. Lots and lots. Luckily we've got some handy helpers and a Tim Horton's nearby.

Watchin' a movie.
This place has everything we need!

Now this is luxurious living!

(No, it's not a Fight Club ritual - Estelle is drying her tummy on Guy's shirt)

Well, Pardonnez-moi!

Alice seems to have a natural wordy-ness about her. Her vocabulary is impressive for a five year old, and her fluency in French and English might soon surpass that of her parents. The other day I slipped up and said "le gaufre" instead of "la gaufre" (french for waffle) and she corrected me! No Mummy, it's la not le. Sheesh. Tough critic! Also at school this week her class has been finding rhyming words. For example, words ending in "on" sound, "a"' or "i". Alice said that she had raised her hand many times to suggest words, and that her teacher said she was a "specialiste du vocabulaire". Brag-a-brag-a-dooooo!

When you just can't decide...

Why not color with 15 crayons at the same time?!?
Makes for a fab effect.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Bittersweet...

Of course we're super excited about the upcoming move to a new house, but we've started the packing process, and it's just a little bit sad. We've has so many good times in this little house, most of all bringing our two little munchkins into the world and doing our best to parent them as they grow.

Some of the first things to get packed were many of the girls' toys. So now instead of playing with Lego and Barbies, they've taken to scream wrestling. It's a bonding experience, but makes me wonder if I could handle the chaos of a pair of boys instead... (just kidding Francine & Stéfane!)

We hope you're planning a visit to our new home sometime this summer - but don't be offended if we ask you to paint a room or shingle the roof (just kidding René!)

Masquerade

Princess

Estelle's éducatrice, Sandra, paints really awesome makeup on the kids. Last week they were princesses, pirates and a bat.

Swim Swim

Estelle's swimming pictures appear to have been splashed right off the camera! Will try to get more...

Crick-crack

Who doesn't love cracking the ice on top of a puddle in the spring time?
THese photos were taken at around Easter, when we were enjoying our first of many bouts in spring weather.
