Daddy's bicycle limousine

Doux, doux

Everyone be gentle with little Olivia! (Alice and Estelle were very gentle)

Live, from New York...

It's Saturday Night! It's 9pm, and we're back in the hotel room, exhausted! It's been another incredible day - rummaging at thrift stores and antique flea markets, touring the island of Manhattan by boat, meandering through Central Park, dining at the Met and relishing fine Egyptian, American, European masterpieces at the famed museum. By New Yorker's standards, the night is just getting started, but we've got a big drive tomorrow, and we're about to decide whether or not we're game to head back out... Mostly, we can't wait to get back to our lovely girls, who are also having a super vacation (photos to come later this week. That is, if Gran and Grandad had any time to take some)

NY day 2

We took a tour of NBC studios this morning (30Rock). It was a spectacular view from the 68th floor. Central Park in the background. Some classic Art Deco statues and ornaments are prominent in this area. Gotham style. This is the new Apple flagship store near central park. We peeked in and saw hundreds of people in the pit of consumer frenzy. Central park is HUGE (4 km long) and presents a nice contrast to the bustle of Manhattan. We also visited the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and took in some classics, some works of design as well as some highly provocative performance art (there was a spot where you had to walk between 2 naked models with barely enough space to squeeze through).

high line park NY

Luguy are currently on holiday in NY while the girls are enjoying some quality time with G and G. We have had wonderful meal and a nice walk in highline park. no time to write any more.

Just like Crocodile Dundee...

No, Alice and Estelle are not carrying around great big knives, but they did eat snake for lunch yesterday... Just wanted to share this neat recipe with you. Fun for kids (and other hot-dog-wrapped-in-pastry lovers!) Curly Hotdog Snakes Have you tried any good recipes lately that you'd like to share? (Eric & Pascale vous êtes exempté de cette tâche, car vous m'avez déjà refilé une superbe recette!)

The other milestone...

Not crawling, walking, learning the alphabet, or potty-training, I'm talking about the one they don't mention in any of the baby books. Eating KETCHUP for the first time! Estelle finally savored her first, and most definitely not her last, nickel-sized spooge of that red, liquid gold. Every parent's best friend and worst enemy! Alice and I were s o proud. But now we have to share...

Easter Egg Hunt 2

We were lucky enough to have a second Easter egg hunt at the Maclaurin's . Dylan, Charlotte and Isabelle welcomed us to their grandparents farm for an anywhere-outdoor-except-in-the-lake-or-on-the-snow egg hunt. What springy good fun! Alice and Dylan nearing the Arctic barrenlands (closely supervised by Ben), Charlotte about to catch up. Grandad, leave the pink umbrellas for the little girls! Olivia in her Easter socks and outfit. Post-hunt inspection. You have this egg. I'm gonna eat my ham sandwich.

Easter Egg Hunt 1

A little jumbled, but you get the idea... (The sneaky bunny - just out of bed!)

Sleepover

The girls and I spent the night at Gran and Grandad's on "Easter Eve". It was so much fun to play, play, play. Inside, outside, dollies, puzzles, books... if only home were as much fun as this! Watch out motorists! Alice's yellow van. Dollies, dollies, dollies Dining at our cottage.

Bonne Fête Benjamin!

Nothing better than a great outdoor party in the middle of summer. A happy boy and his vroom-vroom cake Staking her claim Alice:"I'm pretty sure Mummy wouldn't want you to do that..." Estelle:"Trust me. I saw someone do this on reality tv." Lea's legs are almost as long as the slide.
